Persuasive Writing Advertisements!
As part of our Persuasive writing unit, we took a look at advertisements and how they try to persuade consumers to buy their product. The students were given random objects found in the classroom to try and sell to us through their own TV commercial. Here are some of the results... Contributing Schools Visit.
A few Rm4 students were lucky enough to be asked to help out at our Contributing Schools Day. The kids had a great time and complimented our students on helpful they were!

"I know an alien!"
As part of our persuasive writing unit, we had to convince the class that we either lived with, or knew an alien living amongst us.
"I definitely live with aliens. My Mum puts this weird stuff on her face to go to work and my sister always has her hair up in a bun, probably to hide her antennas." Shikayla
"My teacher is an alien and I have perfect evidence to prove this. Whenever she tells us to be quiet, we all go silent. I think she has brain control powers." Aryan.
"My brother is most definitely an alien. He wears awful looking socks with his cream pants that have elastic at the bottom and is always on this weird gadget thing that says "Samsung" at the top of it in shining letters." Jayden B
"Miss Gardner is an alien because she has super sonic hearing to hear where all her students, or slaves are. She always puts on what looks like lip balm but I bet it is a special potion she uses to stop her lips from shrivelling up in the dry heat." Sophie
"My Dad is an alien because he leaves for work at 6am every morning, it must be so he can get to the moon on time." Gabrielle
"I am positive that my brother is an alien! He has big metal teeth that stop him from eating particular foods. I am sure that those foods are the ones that could kill him that's why he doesn't eat them. He is always on his phone, for all we know he could be sending aliens to planet earth to takeover!" Meg
"My Dad is an alien for example, every second morning he gets this cutting thing out and cuts his greens off his face. He has a big garage full of creepy tools and saws and he also has a spaceship which never flies in the air but along the top of the water. He says it is a boat but I don't believe him." Ethan.

Waterpolo

Science alive "mindball"
Students were challenged to compete against each other to see who could completely lower their brain activity the most. While some failed almost straight away, we did have a few who battled it out for at least 5 minutes!
